YouTube apparently had some downtime yesterday after a few technical issues, and after looking deeper into this we noticed the video site also had an outage today.
Yesterday (Monday) 10th February YouTube users received a message saying, “500 Internal Server Error, a team of highly trained monkeys have been dispatched to deal with the problem.”
Since then we decided to check the isitdownrightnow.com to see if YouTube had any issues, and indeed it did. If you look at the screenshot below you will see the date and times of the issue occurring, but what’s more interesting is that today 11 Feb 2014 at 05:31 based on the times being displayed at PT (Pacific Time) YouTube went down for 14.24 ms – all is now up and reachable.
OSM experienced no issues at all with YouTube, we asked around and those that we spoke to said they could access YouTube with no problems at all.
If you look at the tweet below someone is seeing the funny side of things – Have you had any YouTube outage problems?
@YouTube is up and running again. Seems like the monkeys did their job. pic.twitter.com/8PMrWY0qWg
