Here at OSM we like to bring you a healthy dose of YouTube’s best viral videos and we have a slightly bizarre and amusing one here for you. Recently we have seen a penguin being tickled, little Thor and the latest epic rap battle of history. We now bring you a football fan invading the pitch by himself on a motorised wheelchair.
A young 18 year old Northhampton Town supporter called Derry Felton has become a YouTube hit after another fan video recorded him slowly storming the pitch after his team had scored. According to Metro, Felton claims that he “said to his mate that if his team scored he would go on the pitch.” Fate was tempted and Northhampton did score, which prompted Derry to make his big entrance.
Northhampton are struggling in League 2 and their late equaliser is vital in ensuring their safety for next season. Fans went wild after the goal, chanting “we are staying up”! When Derry somehow managed to bypass security, the stewards had to allow him to move from the middle of the pitch to the end, due to his disability. You can see the video of Derry’s pitch invasion embedded below.
So far the video which nobody expected to get any viewings has got over 355,000 hits, since it was uploaded 5 days ago. This figure is definately set to rise once more and more people share the video. It is highly unlikely that Derry Felton will be competeing with the likes of Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black, but at least he has had a moment of unexpected fame. Leave us any thoughts you have on the video in the comments.
