It is no secret that Verizon Wireless lacks any decent smartphones, but this could all change in 2010. We know that there will be a Verizon version of the Nexus one soon – many assumed that the handset would have been released at last weeks CTIA 2010 event. Then there is that possibility of the iPhone coming over to Americas preferred cell phone carrier.
So what are the differences with the two handsets? Well we know that one is running the Android OS and the other the iPhone OS. Both do not have a physical keyboard, the Nexus One opting to copy the success of the iPhone and its full touch screen display.
As the nexus one is only 3 months old it comes packed with more powerful hardware, such as the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, although this still does not offer a performance advantage over the iPhone. It is no secret that what lets the iPhone down the most is its Battery life – there is no such issue with the Nexus One.
It is often hard comparing two handsets running two different mobile OS, at the end of the day it comes down to what you what from a phone and personal preference – but just remember that no handset offers more than the iPhone and its App Store. However, Google is playing catching with its Android Market Place.
