With all the hype of the iPad and even the rumoured iPad 2 the little Samsung Galaxy Tab keeps on plugging away with its sales. What if I were to tell you that it has now shifted more that 1 million units, would you be surprised? That is pretty astonishing when you think that the market has so far been dominated by Apple, perhaps the king of tablets in 2011?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab has overtaken any possible estimations of units sold and now has become a very good little device. This is partly down to the fact that Samsung cleverly teamed up with Android for the OS and then made it different to its competitors. The Galaxy Tab has a 7” screen which for some people is too small. For me I don’t have an issue… The screen is responsive and it is actually a good looking tablet.
Undoubtedly carriers from across the US have greatly aided their sales. According to Engadget.com only 600,000 units had been sold by November 22nd so between then and now they have sold an additional 400,000 units since then. Darren Murphy is also saying that Apple are looking to shift 7 million iPads by the end of the year, a realistic target for them but hats off to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab for being successful in a dominated market.
