As many of us are aware, the world of technology is forever changing, and one big inclusion since the start of this year is that of dual-core processors, which have and will be seen on many smartphones. The list includes some such as Samsung’s Galaxy S2, HTC EVO 3D, Motorola’s Droid Bionic (if it surfaces), the HTC Sensation, LG G2x and so on.
I have to say I wasn’t really familiar with the name, but on reading what the new “Vega Racer” has to offer, we thought it only fair to compare it to some of its other rivals. Although Pantech isn’t a brand that springs to mind, it has a fairly big presence in the country of Korea. If we start off with that all-important processor, the Vega Racer will include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, which will knock the spots off HTC’s new EVO 3D and that of the HTC Sensation with their smaller 1.2GHz.
As unwiredview.com reported, along with this, the Pantech will incorporate a 4.3-inch TFT LCD display, 1GB RAM, Adreno 220 GPU, big 8MP front-facing camera and 1.3MP to the back. Although we have reported in the past that Samsung may possibly bring out a faster dual-core 2GHz handset towards the end of the year and its anybody’s guess as to what the iPhone 5 will include, the Pantech would be positioned at the top if bought to the American market. So it begs the question why hasn’t it?
Although no official release date has been confirmed, we can tell you that the new Vega Racer is expected to launch later this month on carrier SK-Telecom.
What are your initial thoughts on the new Vega Racer? Would you be tempted if it extended to a much bigger audience?
