The smartphone market has become extremely competitive especially over the last little while with all the talk of the iPhone 5 and a load of other devices. Android are seemingly dominating the market with their range of devices of all types and price and also people simply looking for an alternative to the Apple iPhone.
The Google IO keynote has been pretty eventful already with the Google +1 button on its way and the latest OS being made official and possibly available for Q4. Now we have heard through Phandroid’s Quentyn Kennemer that there’s a possibility of a new Nexus Phone making ts way onto the scene with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and a dual-core processor as hinted by Andy Rubin.
The latest Android OS has certainly got many people licking their lips at the prospects of having the same OS running on a tablet and smartphone and if you couple that with the potential popularity of a successor to the Nexus One and the Nexus S then you have a very nice recipe indeed.
Andy Rubin was asked an interesting question; “Will Ice Cream Sandwich require phones with more processing power now that the complex holographic UK is confirmed to be making its way to phones?” and the answer he gave was “Maybe, maybe not.” At the moment thins is speculation as Rubin hasn’t actually confirmed any details other than Google is looking at introducing another smartphone with top of the wish list dual-core processing.
What do you think; will we see a new Nexus phone from Google with a dual-core processor? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
