We’ve been taking a look at some of the great new phones that emerged from CES and have briefly mentioned the Motorola Atrix 4G as it was launched and then taken a look at its performance for gaming. Now we thought we’d give you a closer look at specs and more.
This new smartphone which is expected to be released sometime in this first quarter of the year has been given a lot of attention and on closer inspection we feel that maybe we should have included it in our 5 of the best Androids from CES 2011. Michael Oryl over on Mobile Burn notes the sheer power of this beast with its dual-core processor and also the useful netbook style dock accessory.
Some of the best features of the Atrix are the 4G HSPA+ support on AT&T, 16GB of internal storage and a 4-inch 960 x 540 QHD display to closely vie with the pixel display of the iPhone 4. There’s also 1GB RAM and up to 48GB memory, front-facing VGA camera and 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. Not forgetting of course the NVIDIA Tegra chip and the fact it will be running on the Android 2.2 OS.
You can see more on the Atrix 4G on its product page on the Motorola website here and it’s now also listed on the AT&T website here where you can sign up for updates that will let you know when it becomes available. You can also see a video demo of the Motorola 4G in action courtesy of Mashable, below this story. The price of the Atrix 4G has not yet been revealed.
What are your thoughts on this new 4G Android for the AT&T network? Could it take some of the attention away from the release of a Verizon iPhone at last? Why not let us know what you think by sending us your comments.
