LG are one of the many presences being felt at CES 2011, and whilst the event has been plagued by tablet PCs, there are also some other devices being showcased. Amongst them is the LG Optimus, which has just been officially announced by LG.
The device is going to be LG’s Android flagship smartphone for 2011 and it looks like a brilliant device! It has a 4” NOVA display which will reduce the overall power consumption through a normal day use by 50%. The NOVA screen is paired with a 1500 mAh battery to make sure that even when you are using the device at full brightness you will have enough juice for your daily usage.
Something else a bit special with the LG Optimus, it has a front-facing camera, but not just any front-facing camera, it’s a 2 megapixel one! This device has also become one of the slimmest cell phones on the market at just 0.36 inches thick.
We have had a look at the press release and the LG flagship, which is expected to have quite an impact on the cell phone market, will be released in either Q1 or Q2, so the 1st half of 2011. Very interesting stuff from LG.
If you would like to read more about the device then you can see the full press release over at Engadet.com, Slashgear.com’s Chris Davies also offer some opinion on the device so make sure you have a read.
