Eccentric and controversial singer Lady Gaga appears to have achieved another feat in the world of social media recently, by becoming the first living music artist to acquire 10 million fans or “Likes” on the popular social networking website Facebook.
According to a recent mashable.com article by Samuel Axon, this means that she has beaten US President Barack Obama, by around 700,000. The “Bad Romance” and “Paparazzi” singer is said to have reached the milestone over this past weekend.
Gaga previously made the social media headlines, when she became the first currently producing music artist to reach 1 billion views on the video sharing website YouTube. However, the late King of Pop Michael Jackson has beaten Lady Gaga in both categories.
The Facebook page for Lady Gaga is regularly updated, either by the singer herself or a ghost writer. The same goes for her Twitter account, which now has over 4.5 million followers. Lady Gaga’s Facebook fans even organized a “National Lady Gaga Day” at one stage.
