Eccentric singer Lady Gaga may still be the queen of Twitter with a total of 7 million followers, but it appears that 16-year old singing sensation Justin Bieber is following closely behind. Thanks to the star’s massive fan base, Bieber has now reached the 6 million Twitter followers milestone.
According to a recent article over at mtv.com by Jocelyn Vena, the “Baby” singer took to his Twitter page to thank all his fans, posting a message that read: 6 MILLION OF THE GREATEST FANS ON EARTH ON TWITTER!!!! THANK U.” He then went on to say that his hometown only has a total of 30,000 people.
This definitely isn’t the first time that Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have battled it out in the world of social media. Only last month, the two were both fighting to reach 1 billion YouTube hits before each other. Lady Gaga was of course the first to reach that very special milestone.
Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” video has now racked up 303 million views, while “Just Dance” has a total of 125 million views. “Alejandro” is also piling up the YouTube views with a total of 99 million and “Telephone” has now totalled up 91 million views on the popular video-sharing website.
However, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” video is the most-watched clip on YouTube ever, with a total of 380 million hits. His “Never Say Never” clip has a total of 104 million views so far, while his “Never Let You Go” video has now received a total of 99 million views.
