For those of you who have been waiting for the new Facebook iPhone app “Facebook Places“, it has arrived in the app store. The new 3.2 version of the app will incorporate some great new features and ways of rectifying bug issues. During a Facebook press conference at Palo Alto Campus, it was hoped to be launched and now with a sigh of relief, users can now access it.
When Ben Parr at Mashable reported on this, Facebook are hoping to give their geolocation competitors a run for their money! When looking at Foursquare for example, the new Places allows you to see where your friends are or to check in to a nearby location. For users looking to open up Facebook for iPhone, it is keenly positioned at the front and in the center with a greeting message of “See where your friends are and share where you are”. With a simple click on the icon, it will direct the user to a menu which will give accessibility to scan where your friends are.
For those of you who enjoy uploading videos and photos from your Facebook via your iPhone, the app will allow you to upload multimedia. Added to this, Facebook iPhone have now added privacy options for status updates. This will benefit users immensely as this will set who can see your updates.
