There has been a lot of activity in the Apple camp recently, rumors over iPad 2′s release dates have got us excited as well as speculation over the replacement to the iPhone 4.
Due to escape into the open next year, Gary over at PR News has sourced some information on patents for the device that were approved last week.
The US Patent and Trademark Office has secured the patent for radio mapping for the iPhone 5, this would allow the 5th gen to access AM and FM frequencies with the added benefit of satellite radio in the future. A report by Dial to Save suggests that the FM radio receiver will find its way into the top right-hand corner of the handset.
Adding the mapping system will give the user the ability to find and select a station with the closest or strongest signal.
With this feature rising out of the iPhone 5 cloud, it is highly likely that we will start to gain more information about other additions to the next-gen iPhone. All we need now is a release date, but if the 4 is anything to go by the chances are that Apple may keep us waiting longer. Obviously, we are yet to see the mythical white iPhone 4, due for release in the spring of next year. Coupled with that and talk of a Verizon iPhone, means that we have a lot to look forward to, so stay tuned.
Tell us what features you would like to see on Apples iPhone 5.
