There’s a lot of enthusiasm being shown surrounding some of the upcoming 4G phones coming in the next few months and one of those phones coming to Verizon is the HTC Thunderbolt for its 4G LTE network. We’ve recently posted about the next rollout of the 4G LTE network and also some price and release date rumours for some Verizon 4G phones, including the Thunderbolt.
Now we hear some interesting news from Phil Nickinson of Android Central as it seems that training for Verizon employees on the HTC Thunderbolt has begun. Not just that but the picture for the Thunderbolt information reads, “First VZW device with simultaneous voice and data capabilities,” (in 4G LTE locations).
Verizon smartphones have often come under criticism for the lack of this feature and at CES 2011 Verizon informed us that some of the 4G phones coming would be capable of simultaneous voice and data use, so the news that the HTC Thunderbolt is one of them will please an awful lot of people. Also, you can check out an article by James Kendrick on ZDNet that includes a video of the HTC Thunderbolt in action on the Verizon LTE network. We also hope that the fact Verizon has started training for the Thunderbolt means the release date maybe soon. What are your thoughts on simultaneous voice and data support for Thunderbolt?
