There is a new app being launched on the iPhone and iPad today, it’s a subscription magazine called the ‘Economist’ which will be released once a week to be available for download by 9 pm on a Thursday night (UK time), 4 pm US time.
The Economist plans to reach 1 million subscription users which will also include people currently paying for their Kindle service. The app will be a free download however the annual fee for a subscription will be £120. A single digital issue will cost you £3.49 or if you want to pay quarterly then it is £24.99. Alternatively, you can pick up a printed version for £4.
Perhaps a good move that these guys are moving across to a digital version for the items that so many people have. It looks like they are trying to hit a lot of markets although there was no mention of Android, surely they would be stupid to miss them. To read more about this app then head over to guardian.co.uk where Mark Sweney has written an article.
The app is out now and available to download. Will you be subscribing to the Economist Mag? Let us know in the comments below.
