With one the biggest gadgets this year already having a very successful US release, the iPad 2 has had many people waiting in anticipation for its UK release that was set to start taking orders at 1am GMT. Following recent reports it seems that this launch didn’t go quite as well as planned.
Recent reports claim that many people have been spending up to 45 minutes trying to order this device from the UK Apple Store, upon trying to process their order customers are continuously being met with an order error message, it’s currently not known if any other country has experienced this same sort of problem.
According to Pocket-Lint some people managed to get their order processed by changing their Apple Account to a 1-click account, even though they were getting their order passed through some people were not receiving the confirmation email for as much as 90 minutes.
To really add insult to injury according to the comments on this post by Product-Reviews a few people had their bank cards rejected, this is because when their payment was taken Apple ended up processing the payment too many times. Those who managed to get their order through look to wait 2-3 weeks for their devices to be delivered.
For all these problems it seems it may have been easier to wait a little while longer and grab your iPad 2 from a store rather than online, this delay in delivery could be down to a shortage of stock, according to this post from Techradar.com anyone wanting to buy this tablet from a local store should have no worries about their stock level.
