The vicious legal battle between Apple and Samsung has been taken a step further after it was revealed that unreleased smartphones and tablets had to be handed over to a federal court.
Apple accused Samsung of infringing their patent for the iPhone and iPad last month, claiming that their Galaxy products were stolen technology. These very strong claims have resulted in Samsung having to turn over their newest products which are set to be launched in the future, by order of a federal judge, Electric Pig has reported.
The court has forced Samsung to had over product samples of their Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Infuse 4G and Droid Charge smartphones, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Korean giant has 30 days to come up with the goods, which is 3 months earlier than normal in this kind of trial.
Top 10 has stated that Samsung help Apple by supplying them with the A5 chip that powers the iPad 2 and possibly the iPhone 5. It would seem shocking if it was revealed that the Galaxy products were iPhone and iPad rip offs, but I do not think this is the case. I do agree that features from Samsung’s products do look inspired by Apple’s. Let us know how you think this court battle will turn out, will Apple make Samsung pay?
