Social media ad spending is on the rise globally, in the U.S alone social media advertising revenue is estimated to rise by over 194%, climbing to an all high of $15 billion by 2018.
Thanks to Invesp they have put together a very good infographic looking into social media ad spending statistics and trends. Looking at the figures above, this would be a huge increase of 24% annual growth rate compared to last years $5.1 billion.
U.S social mobile ad revenues are going to rise from $1.5 billion in 2013 to $7.6 billion in 2018, which is a growth rate of 38.3%.
When you look at the social network ad spending share by region, North America in 2013 was at 43.2%, 2014 42.3%, 2015 41.0% and 2016 at 40.2%. The infographic also looks at the same statistics for Asia Pacific, Western Europe, Latin America, Central or East Europe and Middle East & Africa.
The rate for social ads on Facebook has risen by 54% over the last year, while the cost-per-click (CPC) search ads rose by 8% during the same period. Not surprised at all that the most preferred social media platforms by advertisers is Facebook with 92%, YouTube 35% and Twitter at 23%.
