Google Plus is getting ever so popular and growing at a fast rate, the new social networking place came just after Facebook, Twitter etc but they are up there with the big boys now. The Google Plus influence is strong, and thanks to new features they will only but get bigger, today we will talk a little about its new hashtag within Google search with results from Google+.
Hashtags are now huge and so much so celebrities Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake joined forces to make a brilliant video together all about hashtags, you can watch the YouTube video titled “#Hashtag” with Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake below, which has amassed 14,198,359 views in 6 days.
Lets get back to Google Plus and #hashtag results, Google as we all know has added hashtags to its Google Plus streams, and it seems these find more results as well as projecting more results.
We visited Google Senior Software Engineer, Zaheed Sabur’s Google Plus page and he has provided a few details covering the richer hashtag experience in Google Search.
If you look at the screenshot above you will see that OSM done a search in Google with #Emmys, the results on the right hand side shows relevant Google Plus posts, try this with other hashtags.
Posts will only show up that have been publicly shared with you, as far as we can see you can use this new hashtag experience with English language users in the US and Canada on google.com and google.ca – please do let us know if it works in your country, and if it does let us know what country you are in.
Hastags are going to be one of the most important factors on social media networks, instead of sponsored links hashtags takes their place to make sharing much easier on Google Plus.
