Galaxy Nexus vs Lumia 800, choices

As we swiftly move towards the tail end of 2011, its fair to say that we’ve had an impressive year in terms of new smartphone devices that have either landed or about to. One of course is that of Samsung’s Galaxy S II, with others such as Motorola’s Droid Bionic and Apple’s recent iPhone 4S following suit.

Now with Christmas around the corner, manufacturers will be doing everything in their power to get their devices out onto retailer shelves, two are that of Samsung’s new impressive Galaxy Nexus whilst Nokia have just announced their new Lumia 800. So what will both offer you in terms of specifications?

The first is that of the Galaxy Nexus, dubbed a monstrous phone. With a 4.65-inch screen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, NFC, Android’s brand new 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 5 megapixel CMOS rear camera and 1.3 to the front, it’s a job to not be tempted. Rumors are pointing to the new Sammy releasing on November 10th in the US and November 17th in the UK, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Next up is that of Nokia’s new Lumia 800 with a 3.7-inch curved glass Amoled screen, 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, new Mango OS, 8 megapixel rear camera with Carl Zeiss optics plus three additions that of Nokia Drive, Nokia Music and Sports Hub. In terms of release dates, we are still uncertain as to its entrance in the US, although the UK is reported to be receiving it on November 16th.
