Steve Jobs Dies: The World Loses Visionary, Google Pays Tribute

Many people around the world are still in shock over the news about the Apple CEO Steve Jobs, I know I certainly am. It would certainly seem that as hard as he fought he has lost his battle against pancreatic cancer and has died at the age of 56. The world loses a visionary who had a massive influence on so many different things and now Google has also added a little tribute to their homepage.

When you think about the things that he has done for Apple and for technology as a whole, it’s nothing short of amazing. As a co-founder of Apple he has pretty much seen it all from day one and with his death, social networking sites have gone berserk with tributes. As always Twitter is absolutely alive for it with everyone wanting to let their feelings be known for the Apple CEO.

Over at BBCNews there’s an article that talks about some of the achievements of Steve Jobs and things that he has said along the way that have been summarized by’s Alan Ng in this article. There’s one particular statement from Apple that really sums up Steve Jobs and his role at the company, it reads that they have “lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.”

As many people are also aware, Google generally pays tribute to influential people that have passed away on their birthdays or days where they are remembered with a doodle. I guess due to the short time scales they have had to put a small tribute to Steve Jobs simply by adding his name, the year he was born and the year he died. Fair play to Google who really didn’t have to do that especially as they are Apple’s main competitor in the smartphone market but well done to them for doing so, you can see it by clicking on this link or by looking at the image below.
