Droid Bionic Price Massively Reduced at Amazon: Plus Rooting News

We’ve been following leaks, speculation and rumor about the Motorola Droid Bionic for many months now and today at last this Android handset with 4G LTE was finally released on Verizon. We’ve already given readers a review roundup so you can see if it was worth the wait and now we have details of a massive reduction in the price, courtesy of Amazon, plus rooting news.

The price of the Motorola Droid Bionic is $299.99 on the usual two-year contract on the Big Red and the first impressions we’ve seen so far seem to agree it’s a very decent handset but the price may deter some purchasers. However the Amazon deal will provide you with the Droid Bionic at only $199.99 on contract, that’s for new customers. We recently told how the new Apple iPhone 5 is likely to be competitively priced against the US Galaxy S II and the Motorola Droid Bionic and would be much cheaper if it’s released at the expected price of around $199 (unconfirmed). However this deal would match that, making the Droid Bionic much more affordable.

News of this special offer comes to us from John V. over on Phone Arena, sourced from Amazon, and although the price above is only available to new customers, existing Amazon customers with eligible upgrades can also benefit with a price of $249.99, still $50 less than elsewhere.

In other Droid Bionic news we know how many of our readers like to root their devices and Kellex over on Droid-Life has already provided 7 step-by-step rooting instructions. Kellex managed to root his Droid Bionic in only three minutes so if that’s your thing then check out the link for full information.

We’d like to hear from you with your views on the Droid Bionic. Have you decided to make it your next smartphone? Maybe you already got your hands on it today but paid full price? If you have one what are your initial thoughts? Why not let us know by sending in your comments.
