Piers Morgan Tweets On Christine O’Donnell Walk-Out: Your Views?

August 18, 2021 | Debbie Turner

It seems trouble is afoot in the world of entertainment as an incident on last night’s Piers Morgan Tonight show has got a lot of people talking. The Tea Party’s Christine O’Donnell walked out of the CNN show after Morgan continued to ask questions about gay marriage, leaving Morgan looking unflustered. However, after the show Morgan took to Twitter to give his take on events and we’d like to know your views. Take a look at the YouTube video below this story to see what happened.

A certain amount of bantering went on between Morgan and O’Donnell where the Delaware politician made it clear she didn’t want to answer questions about gay marriage. Morgan persisted however, saying that it was relevant as she’d written about it in the book that she was promoting, “Troublemaker: Let’s Do What it Takes to Make America Great Again.” At one point O’Donnell, 41, said, “You’re borderline being a little bit rude,” according to Joyce Chen over on the NYDailyNews. Morgan looked a little surprised at this saying, “Really?” O’Donnell continued, “”Right now, what I’m trying to do is promote a book that I hope to be a very inspirational story to people who are a part of the Tea Party movement.”

The conversation continued as Morgan quizzed O’Donnell about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and then pointed out that O’Donnell was being “weird” for not wanting to answer his questions. Morgan looked pretty composed at O’Donnell’s walk-out and in fact still went on to say that O’Donnell’s book was “good.” Straight afterwards Morgan used Twitter to put his point of view across tweeting, “Ms O’Donnell wasn’t happy about me quizzing her re views on withcraft and sex, But really flipped at gay marriage Qs. Ripped mike and fled.”

Later on Morgan tweeted again this time adding, “”My first ever walk-out in 25 years of interviews. I guess viewers can decide if I was ‘rude’ or not tonight.” On a lighter note Jonathan Wald, the show’s executive producer also tweeted, “She’s invited back LIVE tomorrow,” and followed up some minutes later by saying, “”Second guest Howard Schultz, CEO Starbucks, tells Piers Morgan: ‘Piers, I’m here to stay’ when asked if he is planning to walk out as well.”

For what it’s worth after watching the discussion between Morgan and O’Donnell it does seem to me that Morgan was being quite respectful and certainly far from rude, and I’m somebody who thinks that he can be a little abrasive sometimes. I’d say that O’Donnell overreacted to the questioning but what do you think. Do you think she should have been ready to answer any questions on content in the book she was promoting on Morgan’s show? Maybe you think that Morgan should have backed down sooner? Let us know with your comments.

if you go on a tv show promoting your book, of course you should be prepared to answer any questions asked about the book. Why else go on the show ?
