Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Due on Verizon 4G LTE: Release July 28

July 26, 2021 | Debbie Turner

We have to take our hats off to Samsung for being one of the few manufacturers so far to come up with a credible alternative for the Apple iPad and Sammy recently launched it’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in a bid to step up the competition. We told our readers when the Wi-Fi version went on sale but what many were waiting for was news of the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab on Verizon and we can now tell you the release date is very close, on July 28 in fact.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE specs and features include a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3-megapixel camera with HD video playback and also a 2-megapixel front facer for video chat. The Tab 10.1 also has a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen display with resolution of 1280 x 800 and runs on the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. According to Todd Haselton over on BGR the Verizon 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1 is available in a 16GB model with a price of $529 or a 32GB model priced at $629 on the usual two-year contracts.

That may seem a pretty hefty price but then Haselton points out that in BGR’s recent review of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 it was described as the “thinnest, sexiest tablet available today.” Remember you’ll also need a data plan and that will set you back $30 monthly for a 2GB allowance, $50 monthly for 5GB or $80 monthly for 10GB. The press release, which you can also see on the BGR link above, says that the Tab 10.1 4G LTE version will be available at Verizon Wireless stores and online at in two color options, Glossy White or Metallic Grey. The Wi-Fi model will also be available through Verizon at $499.99 but only in Metallic Grey.

You can expect the Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE on Verizon to give you download speeds of between 5 and 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G network areas. An offer is also detailed but for “a limited time.” If you buy the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on Verizon you’ll get a $25 credit for the Samsung Media Hub, which you can use against TV program purchases. The Media Hub is a key feature on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and offers TV programs and films for purchase or rental. Any content purchased can be shared with up to 5 other Media Hub-enabled devices at no additional cost.
