Apple have broken one of their own records again, this time in sales of their immensely popular goods. The technology titan recently published its figures for the third quarter, with sales of their iPhone and iPad being at an all time high. Apple has sold a staggering 20.34 million iPhones and 9.25 million iPads.

These numbers trump those of last year, with increases of 142% and 183%. You can see that the iPad has been subject to the most growth, which underlines how tablets have really risen up in the last year or so. More good news came through when it was revealed that the Mac also had a 14% year-over-year increase, according to Mashable.

In terms of takings, Apple landed a record breaking $28.57 billion worth of revenue, with a jaw dropping quarterly net profit of $7.31 billion. Apple has now sold over 25 million iPads, sales being hugely boosted by the 2nd generation launch. Estimations show that as a company, Apple has over $75 billion in cash. Shares are also at their best ever, up more than 5% to $397 per share in after hours trading.

Steve Jobs spoke about the successful sales period, saying “We’re thrilled to deliver our best quarter ever, with revenue up 82 percent and profits up 125 percent”. The Apple boss also mentioned that they are now focused on bringing users iOS 5 and the iCloud this fall, no mention of the iPhone 5 at all.
