Fathers Day Google Doodle Ties It Up For 2011

June 19, 2021 | Maddy Rowe

As father’s around the world wake up to a breakfast compilation of of spilt orange juice and poorly spread toast, served on a carefully carried tray, Google joins in the celebration with a new Doodle to mark the occasion.

Like Anya Vinclauv over at notes, Google is well known for designing doodles to cover all sorts of event’s from birthdays to holidays. As you may remember recently their clever celebration of the famous guitar guru Les Paul gave us a little light entertainment whilst browsing.

This time however there is no musical interlude, just a simple Google motif using a very conservative “dad” style tie as the letter “L”. Clicking on the Doodle takes you to information about Father’s Day with things like images and gift ideas available.

Today’s Doodle is shown on the Google homepage across many countries including the U.S, South Africa, Ireland, along with the United Kingdom and France. Google has posted a special logo to honor dads everywhere on the third Sunday every June since 2000.

Not trying to compete with the fairer sex, Search Engine Watch reported that Father’s Day 2011 has ignited more searches than Mother’s Day for the first time this year. So with dad’s everywhere relaxing in their armchairs being waited on hand and foot, tell us how you will be treating the dad in your life?
