Obama and Weiner Scandal: Implies Resignation Due - Plus Video

The Weinergate Twitter pictures scandal has gathered massive attention and we’ve already told about how Anthony Weiner finally confessed all and then how the fallout from the scandal has led to Congress members tweeting less. Now we have some news for you about how President Obama feels about the scandal and how he has implied that Weiner should resign.

An interview by NBC, which will be shown today shows President Obama talking about the Weiner revelations and although Weiner has repeatedly said he would not resign, it’s quite clear from what the President says that he feels Weiner should go. Obama says on the short video, which you can see below this story, “If it was me, I would resign.” He also added that if you can’t serve effectively because of whatever distractions you may have, “then you should probably step back,” according to Jolie O’Dell over on Mashable.

Other national leaders are also calling for Weiner’s resignation including Nancy Pelosi and Jim Himes. With the huge amount of concern about the scandal and President Obama making it quite clear how he feels about the situation we reckon it will be increasingly harder for Weiner to hang on in his position and resignation almost seems inevitable now.
