Here at OSM we regularly keep you updated with all the latest news from the world of Angry Birds. We recently told you that Angry Birds magic would be coming with NFC features, that a carnival update for Rio was available and we also showed you a range of Angry Birds styled docking stations and speakers. It has now been announced that Rovio will be bringing out an Angry Birds cookery book.

The hugely successful mobile game has become a brand as well as an app; all sorts of merchandise is selling and you can clearly see that here. Mashable has reported that a family cook book will be released later this year, focusing on egg recipes as you would expect. You could soon find your self making Angry Birds cupcakes like those pictured above, courtesy of Pinterest.

A while back we saw a Birthday cake that was fully playable and themed like Angry Birds, so you can see the food like theme emerging here. Whether the cook book will take off like the game remains to be seen, but it seems like a fun idea. The title will be self-published and the most likely distributors will be Amazon, Apple and Barnes & Noble.

The recipes will come in the form of a book and eBook app, with Rovio reportedly enjoying 90% of profits, very tasty. Their CEO Peter Vesterbacka stated that their additional products beside the game have proved very successful. The boss said that “they had made a lot of money and the company would ultimately like to be viewed as an entertainment brand”. Will you be picking up the Angry Birds cook book, or is this just a step too far?
