HTC Reports Amazing May Sales Exceeding $1.4 Billion

HTC has been one of the biggest success stories in the past year and their earnings for May is really underlining this. The Taiwanese based manufacturer raked in an enormous $1.42 billion last month and predictions are tipping the company to do nothing but grow.

Mashable has contributed a large portion of HTC’s success to Google’s mobile OS Android, who supply all of HTC’s devices with the most used operating system in the world. Android has worked wonders for other manufacturers like Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola, all of whom have high end big selling smartphones out on the market.

HTC’s sales figures are more than double from what they were in 2010, with a 5% rise from last months revenue of $1.35 billion. Tech Radar has reported that HTC overtook Nokia as the world’s 3rd largest phone manufacturer back in the first quarter of 2011. HTC recently launched their flagship Sensation smartphone which is exclusive with Vodafone, but is launching with the other major operators this month.

HTC has also delved into the tablet market, with their Flyer recently being launched. HTC also plans to release another high end smartphone but this time with 3D capabilities. We expect to see the HTC Evo 3D a little later on this year. Are you shocked at how popular HTC devices have become? Let us know what your manufacturing preference is in the comments.
