Extra Motorola Droid Bionic Leaks: Release Looks Closer

June 7, 2021 | Debbie Turner

The Motorola Droid Bionic smartphone, due to arrive on Verizon this summer, has caused an awful lot of consternation since its release delay and it was only at the weekend that we wondered if it was coming at all. Yesterday we finally had news of leaked pictures of what seems to be the new improved Motorola Droid Bionic and now there have been extra leaks which leads us to believe that the release looks closer.

We had recently reported on a Motorola website leak which showed new products but did not include the Droid Bionic, which led us to believe the Targa may be the new Bionic. However we also heard of benchmark testing for the Droid Bionic to confuse the issue further. The images we showed you yesterday were reassurance to us that the Droid Bionic was coming after all as we know just how many readers were waiting for it. They showed a redesigned chassis from the original Droid Bionic photos that we all knew, but not so different that it looked like an entirely different handset which seems like a good move on Motorola’s part. The images also confirmed an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, the latest Moto Blur and webtop connectivity with dock. However, the new images show us a bit more of the Droid Bionic.

The extra leak came to us from Kellex over on Droid Life, sourced from PhoneHK and various images are available, a couple of which we’ll show you here, or hit the Droid Life link above to see more. The new photos seem to show a 4.5-inch qHD screen, docking software, a new lock screen and the latest version of Android, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, which will surely please a lot of people. One image also shows the new 3D MotoBlur.

Over on Android Central, Jerry Hildenbrand also reports on these leaked images and along with the whopping qHD display also notes the 1750mAh battery. We’ve still no news on price and availability but it looks as though Verizon will have a 4G LTE addition soon. What are your thoughts on the Motorola Droid Bionic? Have you been waiting for it and are you reassured by the recent leaks that this smartphone will finally be released soon? Let us know with your comments.
