Mortal Kombat Legacy Episode 8: Scorpion & Sub Zero Concludes

May 31, 2022 | Tim Ollason

The new episode of the Mortal Kombat Legacy series is now available and its part 2 of Scorpion and Sub Zero’s build up story. This is the first time we have seen any sort of power being used and it was one of my personal favorite characters Sub Zero that did it. First he was controlling the ice making it come out of the ground then he sent a ball of ice tying to freeze Scorpion which he evades.

The fight continues until Scorpion pulls out one of his all time classic maneuvers by throwing the blade into Sub Zero at the same time pulling him and shouting “GET OVER HERE.” This is one of the most iconic moments of Mortal Kombat episode 8 and in fact the whole series.

Realization kicks in for Scorpion that his home is under attack and he rushes back, this is when we see Sub Zero’s eyes re-open. Whilst on his way back he sees a number of bodies lying in the snow with what looks like ice covering them and then he is horrified to find his wife and child frozen at his home. Whilst on his knees Sub Zero creeps up on him and impales him on a sharp glacier and freezes him.

Things start to get a little suspicious here as Shang Tsung is present and then Sub Zero turns into Quan Chi. Scorpions final thoughts and memories would have been of his wife and kid being frozen and then being stabbed by Sub Zero so Quan Chi makes Scorpion an offer of redemption, an opportunity to find Sub Zero but only if he competes in the Mortal Kombat tournament.

At this point the ice starts to break off and fire comes through, exactly as Quan Chi the sorcerer would have wanted. Now Scorpion has well and truly been born and will compete in Mortal Kombat. As always you can head to the bottom of the article and watch the video there.

What did you think of this week’s episode? Were you surprised at Quan Chi’s presence? Let us know in the comments section below.
