Samsung Galaxy S2 Retailer Roundup: What We Know So Far

May 28, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

One of the biggest smartphones to come out of this year will no doubt will that of the new Galaxy S2 from Samsung. That’s not to say that there wont be others. For some weeks now, we have had an abundance of interest from our readers as to the S2′s specs, possible price, comparisons with others, release date and so on. Along with bringing you news of these, we have reported on accessories and of course retailers and its this that we wanted to roundup with what we know so far.

Before we start, there may be many of you still disappointed with no official word of a US release date but for others pre-orders of the device have already started. Take the UK, Australia and India. Just last weekend news filtered through that AmazonUK were retailing the handset unlocked for a price of £509.99 and that it would be available from May 21st.

Whilst on the subject of UK distributors, Clove, Expansys, Vodafone, Phones4U and O2 will also be selling the phone. Its worth shopping around as each will no doubt have their own deals dependant on whether you are happy to pay a stand alone price or on a contract. If we just mention Vodafone for one moment, if pre-ordered before the end of June, in fact the 30th, it has been reported that you will be entitled to a free Pirates of the Caribbean box set if a contract is taken on.

If we turn our attention to the Australian market, our very own Debbie reported on pre-orders of the sought after device being available through Optus, with a delivery time from 1st June. Check this out if you want your Galaxy S2 by the date listed directly above, pre-orders have to be submitted today (28th).

Moving onto India and what we know so far. Pre-order from 25th May in Delhi, the phone is reported to retail for Rs 32890 with a release date of 3rd June at Vodafone stores or 9th June at other retail stores.
