Facebook & Spotify Hook Up To Give Users Free Music Streaming

May 26, 2022 | Matt Tran

Facebook and Spotify are reported to have come to an agreement which involves bringing music streaming to social networkers. It looks to be a done deal and Facebook users can look forward to enjoying music through the site, without having to visit another.

Tech Radar has reported that the spanking new service will be known as either Spotify on Facebook, or Facebook Music. Which do you think sounds better? No time is being wasted, as reports tell us that the music service could be up and running in as early as a fortnight. Facebook already give their users games and movies, so music was the next natural offering.

The music streaming portal will run in the background and will give Facebook users access to Spotify’s huge music library and even the ability to listen simultaneously with their friends. An icon will appear on the left-hand side of the Facebook news feed in every country that Spotify is currently available. For news on Apple’s iCloud, click here.

Reports say that the music service is currently being tested thoroughly before it launches in a couple of weeks. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated that “media experiences” was the next step in Facebook’s evolution. I am certain that the deal with Spotify will be a success and bring a new appeal to the site.
