Here at OSM we make it our priority to keep all of our readers up to date with all the latest news on laptops and computers, in previous posts we have brought you information on a whole host of exciting new devices like the Fujitsu Celsius H910/H710, HP Pavilion g6s and the Toshiba Qosmio X770.

We have more news to bring you on what is sure to be one of the most exciting pieces of computing kit of the year so far, the Dell XPS 15z was tipped to be a MacBook Air rival by our very own Debbie Turner back at the start of the month, now it seems that we could see it released tomorrow with a price tag of $999.

This latest news comes to us from the Wall Street Journal via Engadget, in their post-which you can read in full here- they tell us that this prediction comes about due to the study of Dell’s recent history and forthcoming plans within the consumer electronics market. Within the WSJ two references are made to an ultra-thin $999 laptop that is set to launch on Tuesday of this week, this has got everyone thinking that tomorrow could possibly be the day we finally get to see the XPS 15z.

If you’re not familiar with this device here is a quick rundown of its specs, the XPS 15z will feature a choice of Sandy Bridge Core i5 or i7 parts from Intel, an optical drive, perforated speaker grills and a 15.6 inch display. You can read more on the specs by following this link through to

We hope we get to see this device launched tomorrow, as much as we do like Apple products we believe the greater the competition the better other products become to quash that competition.

What are your thoughts on the XPS 15z? Could this laptop rival the MacBook Air? Would the price make you consider buying it?
