Lionel Messi’s Facebook Goes Crazy Ahead Of UCL Final

With one week to go until the titanic clash between Barcelona and Manchester United in the Uefa Champions League Final, there has been plenty of publicity on the players in this game. The stand out man is Barca’s Lionel Messi who as a result has had a surge of popularity on this Facebook fan pages.

Dubbed the best player in the world and possibly ever, the Argentinian scored an extra 3 million fans on his pages this week, The Independent has reported. Messi now has a reported 13,994,559 “likers” across his pages as it stands, you can join one of the pages by clicking here. Cristiano Ronaldo currently has over 26 million fans, attracting a lesser 416,000 this week.

Social networks like Facebook go hand in hand with sports events as they do very well at promoting each other. Fans who watch Messi become members of his Facebook page and that page then advertises big matches he is set to play in which then sends the fans back to watch his games. The 28th May is going to be a real cracker and Messi is being tipped to run the show as normal.

This final also took place 2 years ago, with Barca sweeping away Man United 2-0, a game in which Messi scored the killer goal.
