Apple Shipping Less iPhone 4 - iPhone 5 (4GS) Imminent

May 18, 2022 | Tim Ollason

The news about the iPhone 5 or the iPhone 4GS as we hear it will be known is flowing in fast with reports saying that it won’t include NFC and also that it will have a re-designed camera and flash but now we are hearing that Apple are shipping less and less iPhone 4 models.

We learned of this news through an entry on iClarified where they are saying that the volumes of shipments of the iPhone 4 is becoming smaller perhaps meaning that Apple is preparing for the iPhone 4GS release. This is a long shot as we know that Apple is so secretive about any of their devices and things like this should perhaps be taken with a pinch of salt but there’s no denying that every manufacturer will slow down on making a device if it has a successor’s release imminent.

The original source is where a couple of their authors have pieced together that the Taiwan based supply chain makers shipped 17.5-18 million units consisting of 16 million of the 3G model and 1.5-2 million of the CDMA variety. This is down by up to 2.5 million on the regular shipments.

Of course this could be entirely incorrect and it could be simply that Apple didn’t make as many as usual. We are pretty sure that Apple won’t let on any clues as obvious as this; they will let us know when they want the new iPhone to be seen.

What do you think? Is this an indication that the new model is on its way? Let us know in the comments section below.

Due to the enthusiasm in the people about iPhone 4 and iPad 2, the products were running out of stock. But now if Apple is doing it deliberately, then it may be a possibility that they want to increase the zest in the people about the next phone in the iPhone series i.e. iPhone 4S
