Since its initial beginnings, online social networking site Twitter is now seeing in the region of 200 million active users. With some 65 million tweets being sent a day and over 800,000 search queries being processed, it is still proving a popular means of communication with not just the everyday user but celebrities as well.

Normally we would be bringing you news about a footballer who has just taken to the site and had a good old rant or got themselves in hot water after an on-pitch argument, or perhaps giving you news of a pop star who is marketing a forthcoming music album, but not today. Its of how Twitter users have taken to the site in their droves following on from news of the Sony PSN outage now finally being resumed.

Earlier this morning we gave some of you hope that the service was being restored, but only certain parts in America and European countries. CEO for Sony has again expressed his apologies for the downtime but has said that the service is coming back but may take a short time. It also comes with added security such as gamers now having to change their passwords with the use of a new firmware update v3.61.

According to, many Twitter users along the US East Coast have taken to the site with their joy of the service now being resumed. One tweeter said, “Back online. Just played lead and gold all by myself. Killzone 3 is loading. No playstation store yet though.”

Another said, “The Playstation Network is coming up across the world! Slowly but steadily it’s returning to us!”
