Sony PSN “ComeBack” Service: You Back On, Any Problems?

May 15, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

Sony’s PSN outage commenced on the 20th April to the huge disappointment of its gamers, and ever since then, many of you have been waiting patiently for the service to resume. Some of you have even resorted to drastic measures of trading-in your PS3 consoles in return for an Xbox just to get your gaming fix. But earlier on today, some of you may now be regretting that decision, with news of the service being resumed in some parts of the world.

First thing this morning, we gave you news that Sony were indeed restoring the PSN downtime with certain parts of America and Europe seeing the benefits first. Along with a statement from Sony that this was actually going to transpire, a new firmware update has been announced giving gamers in the long run added protection that they desperately need and of course deserve! But this still leaves many of you wondering when it will be your turn to see the service up and running?

According to PCMag, this seems to be the shared feeling of some in US states such as Illinois and Texas. Over at Engadget, Sean Hollister reported that states New Hampshire, Maryland, NYC, New Jersey, California with others were seeing a resumed service. Following on from Sony’s announcement and a video of CEO Kaz Hirai explaining the current situation, it seems the entire process may take some time. So we know that America and Europe will be getting a resumed service but at a trickle, but what about the rest of the world such as Australia? Over on Zdnet, it seems that some parts may now have the service.

We have to say judging by some of our readers’ comments, the update has already started but some of you have not been asked to change your password? Let us know your current situation? Is the service resumed or are you sitting tight?
