We’ve been giving you a ton of news since the Royal wedding about social media aspects such as the top trending Twitter topics for the wedding, Twitter and Facebook statistics and also a surge in Facebook Likes for Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister. Now we have details of a Royal Wedding social media infographic, which shows that according to the buzz, the Queen reigned supreme and stole the show.

News of this infographic came to us from Charlie White over on Mashable, and Webtrends compiled the infographic, which you can see in full below this story. The statistics were measured from social media over a 24-hour period from noon on the day before the wedding and you might just be surprised at some of the figures.

During the 24-hour period gauged the overall amount of Royal Wedding social media mentions was 2.7 million, with 94.7% from Twitter, 3% from Facebook and 1.3% from blogs. The top 5 people mentioned came as rather a shock to us as neither Prince William or Kate Middleton, the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, gained a place. The Queen grabbed 35.1% of mentions while Prince Harry got 20.5%, Pippa Middleton 14.7%, Victoria Beckham 10.6% and her husband David Beckham on 8.5%.

The infographic also shows when posts peaked and which were the top 5 countries that created this social media interest, with the US miles out in front on 55.8%.
