Droid Bionic vs iPhone 5 Summer Release: Who’s Victorious?

April 21, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

Over the last few months, its been a job to keep up with rumors regarding the next generation iPhone or iPhone 5 as its more commonly known. We have heard what possible specs could be included, price, release date and so on, just yesterday we heard that the new handset could in fact include a 12.6 megapixel camera instead of the 5 megapixel that the iPhone has become accustomed to. As well as this, there has been suggestion that there will be 1080p video support, and in relation to release date, the iPhone 5 is now rumored to have a trial production run in July/August time with a mass production of the handset in September.

Side by side with the iPhone 5, is yet another biggie, that of the Motorola Droid Bionic, a dual-core processor handset running on Verizon‘s 4G fast network that is now destined to be released yet again in September. The April/May release which many people were keeping their fingers crossed for, has indeed changed after an announcement from Motorola yesterday stating the Bionic would release in the summer with “several enhancements to the handset making for a better consumer experience.” So with 2 of the biggest handsets to come out of 2011 clashing with one another in terms of release dates, what will this mean for both?

Phones Review quite rightly pointed out that at this stage in the game, Motorola may have the edge over their counterparts as we already have official specs for the Bionic, although avid Apple fans will no doubt stick to what they know and wait for the iPhone 5?

What are your thoughts on this? With these 2 possibly releasing within weeks of each other, can you see an overall winner already? Should Apple be worried at this stage?

i know that the differnt android phones can have benchmark tests for speed. Can the iphone be tested using the same benchmark tests? If so, then that's what I'll wait to see. Dual core or quad core may or may not be faster depending on the type and quantity of RAM. Unknown also if multiple applications can be used at one time. My contract is up next month and the best performing phone will win.
