Keep Your Score With Angry Bird’s New Sync Feature

April 13, 2022 | Matt Tran

We spoke yesterday about the popularity of Angry Birds as it was voted best mobile game and app of the year at the Appy Awards. It may just become a little more popular as the game’s developer, Rovio has announced that a new sync feature will be added so you can keep your game progress when you play on different platforms.

For example I have the game on both my Android smartphone and iOS device, with the sync allowing me to play the game on both devices from the same point opposed to being behind on one and repeating levels. Score syncing was announced by a Rovio developer via Twitter and is said it be coming in the next few months, according to reports from Cnet.

We have seen the birds being launched on tablets as well as smartphones, so it is a very convenient way for users to keep their progress after completing a few levels on the bus via smartphone, and then coming home to play a few levels on the tablet. Electric Pig has reported that the update should be with us before the summer, syncing your game play across Windows, Mac, iOS and Android platforms.

We spoke earlier about wireless syncing, which Apple are trying to introduce to iTunes. The prior success of Angry Birds has helped Rio to become an instant and automatic hit, as it already has millions of downloads with 10 million of those being in the first 10 days. Leave us your thoughts of the introduction of score sync, is it long overdue?
