Galaxy Tab WiFi-Only Release & Price: Official from Samsung

Just as we’ve begun to hear of price reductions for the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 3G we now have news to give you of the Galaxy Tab WiFi-only version with release and price details. Although we gave you previous news of a rumored release date and price, this latest news is now officially confirmed by Samsung.

The release date has now been confirmed as April 10, (slightly later than rumored) and the price is given as $349.99 (slightly cheaper). As a recap the Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs on Android 2.2 and supports Adobe Flash 10.1. It will be available at retail stores and online.

We heard of this news from Donald Melanson over on Engadget, sourced from Samsung, and Melanson points out that the WiFi version only appears to be available with a white reverse. Dale Sohn, President of Samsung Mobile, said “We are excited to have the WiFi version of the Galaxy Tab join our growing portfolio of Galaxy-branded devices.” You can see the product page for the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab at the Samsung link above.

An article over on eWeek though, wonders if anybody will still be interested in the Galaxy Tab WiFi-only tablet with the Apple iPad 2 and the Motorola Xoom both now out. Also the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1-inch models are coming soon so that’s another thing to consider. Are you interested in the Galaxy Tab WiFi-only version or have you been swayed by another tablet? Let us know with your comments.
