Teacher Uses Facebook To Mock Student

April 1, 2022 | Mike Smith

Here at OSM we like to keep you up to date with all the latest news from the world of social networking, we have recently brought you posts about the man who updated Facebook to stop a robbery and the guy who was arrested after posing as a cop on Facebook.

Although largely used for good it would appear the misuse of this site seems to be increasing, the latest person to perform a Facebook faux pas is a Chicago based teacher who used the site to mock one of her students, the teacher took a picture of her student and without her knowledge proceeded to post it on her profile page

According to the teacher found seven-year-old Ukailya Lofton’s hair amusing as she had attached Jolly Rancher candy to the end of her braids for the schools picture day. After taking the picture the teachers uploaded the snap to Facebook and wrote “right, this is for picture day”, following this several nasty comments were then made.

These comments included “if you are going to make your child look ridiculous, the least you can do is have them matching,” “yeah, this is foolishness,” and “I laughed so hard that my contact popped out.” Ukailya’s mum was unaware of this until another parent informed her and saved both the photo and comments to CD.

After notifying the principal the photo was removed and an apology from the teacher was given to the young girl’s mother, not happy with this Lucinda Williams- the girl’s mother- decided to file a lawsuit against Chicago Public Schools.

What are your thoughts on this? Should the teacher be suspended?
