iPhone 5 Leaked Design Images Seen: The Real Thing?

March 12, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

All around us we see rumor surrounding Apple’s latest generation iPhone. Although this did subside briefly following the introduction of the iPad 2, rest assured that there will be more to come.

So the most recent rumor as reported by Pocket-lint, harks back to the previously speculated screen sizing along with some drawn plans for the devices outlook.

In regards to the display, there had been thoughts that the iPhone 5 would likely have an enlarged screen similar in size to that of its Android rivals such as the HTC Desire. Yet again these ideas have been batted around with talk of the handset packing iPhone 4 dimensions but with a thinner bezel allowing an edge-to-edge screen.

Possibilities of a curved back cover seem to have been crossed off with the introduction of some mold engineering drawings discovered by IdealsChina. These pictures confirm the iPhone 4 patterning and flat backing but with the stretched display.

Mold engineering drawings are what the accessory designers use to develop their cases and covers.

If these images are to be believed we could see the Apple handset packing the bigger screen, which can only be a bonus, especially if it is accompanied by the rumored A5 chip, dual mode CDMA and GSM as well as face recognition. Hopefully we should see an announcement at WWDC 2011.

Tell us what you would like to see on the new iPhone? Lets hope that when it finally breaks cover it doesn’t have us talking about what it hasn’t got rather than what it has like the iPad 2.

I'm still mostly pumped up for the iPhone 5. Should be ridiculous and innovated as with most Apple products!
