When it comes to sound systems we have reported on a few recently that have are taking advantage of different types of connection such as the JBL On Air Wireless speaker dock and the Philips Fidelio system using the AirPlay functionality.
We have even seen some speakers in your sneakers which is why we were a little surprised by the latest device from Logitech. It’s a surround sound system geared up to be the successor to the Z-5500 speaker set.
Over at Engadget, their author Darren Murph is reporting that the device will connect to everything from your TV to your games console and you can actually connect up to six devices simultaneously. In the package you will receive a stackable control console, 5 satellite speakers, a subwoofer, a 6-foot six channel direct cable and a remote control with batteries.
To read more about the technical abilities of this surround sound system head over to the Logitech blog where they have added an article. The press release says that they will be shipping this month and you can pick them up for $349.99. One thing that we feel they may have missed out here is the fact that there is no HDMI connection between this system and your own devices, perhaps not a deal breaker but still it would have been nice to have it present.
