Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1: Release On Time Price Too Expensive

March 7, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

If you cast your mind back just a few weeks ago to the MWC in Barcelona, you will remember that as well as devices from LG such as the Optimus Pad or Sony Ericsson’s new Xperia Play, we had quite a few offerings from Samsung. As well as new handsets from the Galaxy range including the S2 with others such as the Gio, Fit, Ace and Mini, we also got to see the next generation Galaxy Tablet or 10.1 as its been named.

Following on it came to our attention here at OSM, that Samsung’s pricing to the forthcoming tablet could be changed due to stiff competition from Apple’s iPad 2 which consequently debuted the middle of last week. The internet became a hive of activity, after an initial statement from Samsung’s Executive VP Lee Don-Joo which said that the company “would have to improve the parts of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that are inadequate.” The question was asked whether the change of price would then have a knock on effect to the 10.1′s release date.

If news from Chris Davies over at Slashgear via AllThingsD, is to ring true, then the answer to this question is “No.” In a much recent statement from Lee Don-Joo it was said that, “Samsung will continue to make every effort to provide the most powerful, well designed and productive mobile device to customers.”

So guys the crucks of it is that yes you will see the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the not so distant future, but if the news is anything to go by then you will may see a revised price comparable to the iPad 2.

What are your thoughts on today’s news? Will a different price from Samsung be enough to tempt you away from other contenders? Or maybe you are waiting for news on a mid-range 8.9-inch version that has been talked about?

I have an iPad and now it's just a game machine with good Internet search.
Useless as a business machine can't connect to the office except email. Plenty of apps claim to be able to connect through firewalls but none of the work. Spent a lot of wasted time on this. Had gurus look into it as well we are all sick of it.
Guess what the new iPad 2 is the same useless. I will be buying a galaxy 10.1 as soon as they release it but I won't wait too long and will buy asmall laptop to travel with if they don't hurry up.
