We have recently been looking at customized devices such as the NES that has been turned into a high end machine but if you are looking for an intuitive and creative design for a sound system, then you might not find a better one than this.
We read a report over on Engadget by their author Donald Melanson about the custom made device the Sneaker Speakers and we were wondering how much you would want a set? We really like the design of them but its downfall is the trailing wires. The speakers were built into the pair of Nike Air Force 1s and actually include the amplifier controls as well. It’s worth noting that these are a one off set of speakers as they were hand and homemade.
If you would like to check out the entire design process then head over to the Art & Sole blog where they explain the inspiration behind the design is for a competition called ‘Inspired Ingenuity’ with the winners winning a trip to Cuba.
If this sort of thing isn’t your cup of tea but you are interested in sound systems that you can actually get your hands on, then click here to have a look at some of the ones we have been recently reporting on.
We think this is pretty cool and some of us at OSM would snap a set of these bad boys up straight away if they were readily available, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
