Apple iPad 2: A5 Chip Inside Confirmed - Your Thoughts?

March 2, 2022 | Tim Ollason

As you may already be aware, the iPad 2 has just been announced and we have already reported on of its new design. It’s crazy what Apple have been able to do in terms of design, they have been able to cram lots of new features into the design and still make it better.

When we reported on the change in design there were a few differences to the actual casing that the device comes with, it is sleek, slim and sexy. One of the new features they have managed to get into the Apple iPad 2 is the A5 chip and we want to know your thoughts on it.

The ARM Cortex A5 chip is set to make the device dramatically faster and more efficient as it us using dual-core processing. The presentation that Apple gave shows images on the screen saying that the device will be up to 2x faster in terms of the CPU and up to 9x faster in terms of graphics… my personal reaction in a single word… WOW!

Other things to remember about this chip is that it still uses the same low amount of power as the A4 chip that currently features in today’s iPad. If you more about the ARM Cortex A5 CPU then head over to the ARM official website and have a read.
