Online social networking site Twitter is not only attracting the everyday person but the world of celebrities, be it actors and actresses, pop stars, writers and sportsmen/women. Boxer David Haye is no exception. It seems the world heavyweight boxing champion has turned to Twitter to update his fans with the latest on his fight against Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko. Back in November, Tim here at OSM spoke of the possibility of Haye stepping into the ring against one of the Klitchko brothers, but he stipulated that he wanted the fight to take place in England not Germany.

London born Haye who to date has fought in 26 fights of which he has won 25, including the most recent against Audley Harrison in 2010, is said to be polishing his boxing gloves for July 2. Despite the British boxer’s intention to retire before his birthday on 31 January 2011, speculation is surrounding the forthcoming fight which has been on the cards for some time.

On 2 separate occasions, Haye took to the networking site and tweeted of talks regarding the July fight which are near to being finalised. As www.daindia.com reported he said “Things were on the horizon.”

Haye was due to fight against Ruslan Chagaev on May 21, although reports as www.skysports.com pointed out have said that this will not actually take place due to Chagaev’s health with the fighter suffering with Hepatitis B. Adam Booth, Manager to David Haye has spoken out by saying, “”At the moment I’ve just got to do what I’ve got to do. I don’t want to talk about it. I’ll just let David tweet whatever he wants to tweet.”
