Samsung Most Buzzed Brand at MWC 2011

MWC 2011 is done-and-dusted and we’ve heard of some hugely impressive new devices on the way in the next few months. We’ve reported on many specific products but you may want to look at our roundup of some of the best upcoming Android tablets, and also our pick of the best Android smartphones at the links.

Now though we’re turning our attention back to MWC briefly to look at which brands, tablets and phones received the most buzz at the event, compiled by looking at the amount of mentions on Twitter, blogs and other social media sites during the time of the MWC between February 13 and 17. This information comes to us from Charlie White over on Mashable with a useful infographic created by Webtrends.

Leading the most-buzzed brands was Samsung, helped of course by not only the new tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but also its new Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone. The second most-buzzed brand was Google (thanks to Android) while third spot was taken by HTC. More generally, tablets were the attention of 47.7% of the buzz while smartphones took up 52.3%.

As far as buzz for individual tablet brands go the top spot went to the LG Optimus Pad on 29.4% followed by the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on 25.1% and in third spot was the Apple iPad. For smartphones the most buzz went to Samsung Galaxy on 23.7%, followed by Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play (PlayStation Phone) on 18.4% and third-placed was the Apple iPhone on 16.2%. The Apple iPhone 4 won ‘Best Mobile Device’ award’ at MWC.
