Twitter Banter: Arsenal Team Mates At It Again

Twitter is a place for many things, and arguments, rants and banter are certainly near the top of the list. Arsenal team mates Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas have taken the preassure down a notch after Wednesday night’s heroics against Barcelona, and engaged in a little friendly banter themselves, with Fabregas teasing his young team mate.

Wilshere who is only 19, won man of the match against the Catalan giants in Arsenal’s massive Champions League clash, which saw the Gunners come from behind to secure a 2-1 first leg victory. After the game when opposition players traditionally shake hands and swap shirts, Wilshere’s real teenage shyness came out as he was nervous about asking a certain opposition player for his jersey.

It has been reported by Goal that Wilshere was too scared to ask for Lionel Messi’s shirt and so asked his captain and ex Barcelona player, Cesc Fabregas to retreive the sought after shirt for him. Fabregas not only scooped Messi’s shirt but also playmaker Xavi’s as well. Messi is regarded as the best player in the world and team mate Xavi is not far behind, so for a 19 year old to have both player’s shirts is a remarkable feat.

According to The Daily Mail, Fabregas tweeted: “Can’t believe i had to go to get Messi’s shirt for u. U were so scared. You were MOTM so next time please ask urself!” Wilshere uploaded the picture of him and his father holding the two jerseys that he managed to take from the game.
